Judith & Dan Hakstege-Fox

Judith has a wealth of experience with international students. She worked at Dudley College for 21 years first as a teacher, later as Manager for International Student Support. During this period the College:-

  - gained British Council accreditation for English as a Foreign Language and
  the Student support provision.
  - was awarded the annual British Council award for being the Best Provider
    of International Student Support.
  - met rigorous CSCI goverment inspection standards for the accommodation
    of students under the age of 18.

Judith has:-
  - a certificate to teach English as a foreign language.
  - taught students with learning difficulties.
  - been a trustee for UKCISA, the organisation which supports International
  Students and staff working with International Students.
  - travelled all around the world to meet with parents, students and agents.

During the last five years Judith has worked as a guardian for pupils in private and state schools in the British Education system and has written for UKCISA a booklet on the Care of International Students under the age of 18.

Dan was born in the Netherlands. He has been in the UK for 22 years during which time he has gained a First Class Honours degree in Computer Science and therefore has first hand knowledge of what it is like to study in a different country and language.

Dan has worked in the electronics industry, for the Inland Revenue and in education, in Powys (Wales) and in the West Midlands. Dan organises the transport for the students and all the financial matters for HEGS, including students' Expenses Accounts and Home Stay Family credits.
